How long can your products stay out of the freezer?

The products are delivered frozen and will stay that way for 2-3 hours after delivery depending on the weather.

Why can’t I buy your products in stores?

By offering our products exclusively through fundraising, we’re able to maintain superior quality and each customer is assured a fresh product. Limited availability is also important for driving demand for our fundraising groups.

For more information on what products we carry, visit our Products page!

What should I expect at delivery?

We will arrive in our own delivery vehicle on the date and time selected. Your order will be prepacked. If your order is under 150 products than you must come pick up from us. Of course, pick up is free.

How long does the fundraiser take?

Most groups sell for two weeks. We will deliver your product roughly two weeks after your order is submitted. Your entire sale can be wrapped up within a month! In slower times of the year we can even do it even quicker as our delivery schedule is more flexible.

Do I collect money when I take the orders or upon delivery?

We suggest that you collect payment when your customer places their order. This way you have all the money collected in advance and you won’t be stuck with any product that is not paid for.

What is the minimum order?

We encourage all groups to sell at least 150 items. Orders under 250 items will have a delivery fee.

When do I pay you?

Payment is due when the invoice is received. Please have payment in to us before we deliver.

Why can’t I order online and have it shipped to me?

Due to the fact that our products are frozen and must be shipped with dry ice, the shipping costs soon eat up your profit.

How could I encourage my out of town relatives to buy from me?

We would encourage your relatives that are coming from out of state that have ordered from you to bring a cooler, buy a little dry ice and take it back with them. The product will stay cold for several days provided you tape it shut and cover with a blanket. Butter Braid® pastries must be kept at 0 degrees or below so regular ice does not work.

How do I send in my order from my fundraiser?

Orders can be submitted through our secure online portal. You will receive a unique link that is specific to your fundraiser. We also offer offline order tabulators if necessary.

Are Butter Braid brand products sold in stores?

At this time, Butter Braid products are not sold in stores. Due to product mishandling while in store freezers, many consumers were let down when our product did not perform as expected. It was then that we decided to focus on our other market – fundraising.

In the fundraising market, we are able to maintain a greater degree of product quality through trained and qualified Butter Braid dealers, giving you a much better experience with our products. This also allows us to fulfill our mission of “helping others help themselves” by helping groups across the nation run successful, quality fundraisers by exclusively providing fundraising groups with outstanding products for over 15 years.

Haven’t I seen Butter Braid products in stores?

Butter Braid products have not been available in stores since 2002. As you may have seen, there are a few bread- and pastry-based imitations in stores and even in the fundraising market, but none have been successful in achieving our standards of quality in appearance, taste, reputation or service. We urge you to experience the Butter Braid difference for yourself!

How long can Butter Braid products stay out of the freezer?

Butter Braid products are delivered frozen to fundraising groups. They will stay frozen for approximately 1-2 hours after delivery depending on temperature and other circumstances. Once the product starts to get soft, it must be put back into a freezer. If the Butter Braid product has started the rising process, (you will notice this if it starts to expand) it cannot be refrozen without affecting the performance of the product. There are no food safety issues if the product is re-frozen during the rising process; however, being a yeast-based product it will most likely not perform as expected when you go to prepare it.

How long can I keep Wooden Spoon products in my freezer?

Wooden Spoon product shelf life is 1 year from date of manufacture when kept at 0° F or below. We recommend that you use your Wooden Spoon products within 6 weeks of receiving it for best product performance.

How long can I keep Butter Braid products in my freezer?

Butter Braid product shelf life is 6 months from date of manufacture when kept at 0° F or below. We do recommend that you use your Butter Braid products within 6 weeks of receiving it for best product performance.

If product is not used within the 6 month period, product performance may suffer due to aging of yeast. At this time there are no food safety concerns, just product performance concerns. Although we have had many consumers call and let us know how wonderfully their 1 or even 3 year old product performed, looked and tasted, we do not recommend this approach.

How should I prepare and/or bake my Butter Braid products?

Please visit the braided pastry baking & handling page or the pastry roll baking & handling page for baking and handling instructions.

How many people will my Butter Braid pastry serve?

We recommend sharing! A braided pastry (with filling and icing) is 22 oz. in size or 1 lb 6 oz. The recommended serving size is a 2 oz. slice. Your braided pastry should serve eleven, each with a 2 oz. slice.

How many people will my Wooden Spoon cookie dough serve?

Each package of Wooden Spoon cookie dough contains 40, 1 oz. servings which is the same as 40, 1 oz. cookies when baked.

How big is my Butter Braid pastry supposed to get?

An average sized braided pastry after rising will be approximately 5 in. wide by 2.5 in. tall by 13 in. long. We have seen many larger than this and some smaller. It is highly dependent on the freezer storage conditions, room temperature in which the pastry is rising, etc. We recommend a room temperature of 70° F.

A frozen braided pastry, on average, is approximately 2 in. wide by 1 in. tall by 9.5 in. long. So, the size of your braided pastry will more than double in width and height at the end of the raising process!

Don’t try for a world record here and let your pastry raise for too long! After a certain point in the raising process the yeast becomes so expanded that it will “fall” much like a rubber band that can no longer stretch. If that happens, it’s nothing to worry about, you’ll just have a flatter pastry than normal.

How should I store my Butter Braid products after baking?

Generally, this isn’t something most people have to worry about since they disappear rather quickly! However, in the case that you have some left over you may store them covered at room temperature for 2 to 3 days.

Will my Wooden Spoon cookie dough stay square?

No, your cookie dough will round while baking. As the temperature heats up, the dough will start to spread like other cookies.

Why do my pastry rolls have colored icing?

If you were surprised to see the purple icing of our blueberry pastry rolls or the orange icing of our orange rolls, there is nothing to worry about! The icings and glazes of all our rolls are specially made and flavored to add an even more unique experience to each bite of your roll. Instead of using one common icing, we made the choice to go above and beyond
